Aura Energy Artist Biography

I started experimenting around 1994, first with water colour and then with pastels.

It was so enjoyable and fun that I started calling the results PLAYART - pastels became the medium of choice, the range of vibrant colours endlessly enticing. At other times I have regarded my art as ART THERAPY as I observed that I was expressing my current emotional state.

As I developed my own unique style it became apparent that other people, including friends and family, were taking notice of the development and as time progressed commissions were being placed for personal pieces. At times I used only the person's name and birth date - the result and accuracy has been amazing.

I feel inspired to create and this means that in each period of inspiration the work is similar, but at the same time each piece is unique. My style is constantly changing and continues to evolve. My work has been called flamboyant, energising, powerful and inspirational. People are constantly commenting that they don't like abstract work usually, but they really like my work.

Each person sees something different in the art. A picture can be hung either portrait or landscape, as often each rotating the piece presents an entirely different perception. I leave it up to people to hang the piece which way is most appealing to them, I also advise them that they may like to change the direction of a piece depending on their mood at any given time. I regard this as real value for money.

I now acknowledge that my psychic ability to tune into people, places, nature, events are a real asset in my work.

I am greatly inspired by nature. At times I focus on a subject such as water, undersea scenes, coral, people. At other times I work without any particular focus and allow my inner self to be expressed.
